The rope mussel is recognizable by her black shell with yellow and blue reflections. This mussel is raised at sea on suspended ropes. Its breeding technique, allows her to feed permanently. The rope mussel is a little bigger with a flesh’s color more steady than the bouchot mussel, but she is a little more fragile. Flesh with a iodized taste very prononced due to its culture on the open sea.
Seasonality : from september to april

Fishing mussel

Bouchot Mussel

Mussel raised according to a traditional culture on piles called Bouchot. The piles are alternatively covered and uncovered by the tides, which allow to obtain very resistant mussels. Renowned for its very smooth flesh.
